A true improv class, along with many other improvisational-based creative arts programs, taught by working actors and true creative arts professionals. For adults who strive to be better with other people, to find their confidence, and perhaps their hidden talents. Check out a class, sign up, and come. That is the whole entry requirement.
Who this is for
You freeze up, and you are tired of it.
Maybe it is reading new people. Maybe it is meetings. Maybe it is a workplace situation where you do not know how to handle things. Maybe it is the five minutes before entering a room, or a social situation where everyone is chatting and you cannot find a way in. Maybe you have a script for every situation and you fall apart the moment someone goes off it.
Improv trains the exact muscle that fails in those moments: responding to what is actually happening instead of what you rehearsed. Sure, it will not be easy at first, but that is what we do. We make it easier for you. The shift will come soon.
You do not have to explain why you are here. Some people in the class have a disability. Some do not. Nobody is asked to account for themselves at the door.
What it costs
The price, up front, where you can see it.
People will not call to ask what something costs. They will assume it is expensive and close the tab. So the number goes here.
Per class
$90
For anyone paying their own way. Weekly group classes, billed per class.
Per session
$125
Individual sessions, booked separately. The same price whether or not you use DDD funding.

We can set up a sliding scale for you and your family, and we are working hard on scholarships. Nobody should walk away over a number without a conversation first.
Using a DDD budget instead?
Group classes are billed to an Individual Supports Budget at $125 per class, and the family pays nothing out of pocket. That path is over here.
Before you sign up
Reasonable questions
I have never done improv. Will I be the worst one there?
It does not matter. There are no wrong answers in improv, as long as you apply the “Yes, and” mindset, and that is worked on in every one of our workshops. It gets easier, and you will find your confidence. There is no question about that.
Will I have to perform in front of an audience?
Not unless you want to. There is a show at the end of a term, and whether you perform in it is entirely your choice.
Can I watch a class before I commit?
Yes. Call (640) 229-3200 and we will tell you when the next one is.
Is this therapy?
No. It is a class, taught by trained actors and teachers. It is not clinical treatment and we do not present it as such. What it does do is give you a lot of repetitions at the thing that is hard.
Can I join partway through a term?
Absolutely. Anyone can join at any time.

Who can sign up?
Anyone. You do not need a referral, a diagnosis or a support coordinator to take a class here.
