What CreatAbility is
A New Jersey nonprofit and DDD approved vendor running improv and creative arts classes for people with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, ADHD and mental health challenges. Group classes and one-to-one sessions. The target skills are social and communication: initiating an interaction, sustaining a conversation, reading nonverbal cues, taking another person’s perspective, and recovering when a situation goes off-script. We also offer improv-based classes in creative writing, songwriting and recording, workplace communication, and acting. Founded in 2018 as SKIT by Jody Wood, Director of the JW Actors Studio.

“These are improv classes for adults with disabilities, and for anyone seeking to improve their speaking skills and their confidence. They also run classes based on improvisational techniques in songwriting, recording, communication in the workplace, creative writing and comedy improv, along with acting classes, and they will be adding more creative arts classes as they grow. It is a DDD approved vendor, so it can come out of the budget. You can go watch one before you decide.”
